The terrifying encounter took place in Sonada, a village located 16 kilometers from Darjeeling. As Aruna descended to the ground floor of her home, she was confronted by the menacing glow of the leopard's eyes. In a swift and vicious assault, the leopard pounced on her. His ferocious barking and determined demeanor managed to drive the leopard away, averting what could have been a tragic outcome.

Despite the successful defense, Aruna sustained serious injuries, requiring 20 stitches on her forehead and near her ears. She also suffered multiple bruises. Currently, she is receiving medical treatment at Darjeeling Sadar Hospital, where she is being closely monitored and cared for.

In response to this alarming incident, local authorities have taken proactive measures. This incident highlights a recurring issue in regions bordering forests, where leopards often venture into villages in search of easy prey, such as livestock. The close proximity of human habitats to forested areas increases the likelihood of such encounters, posing significant risks to residents.

Tiger's remarkable act of bravery serves as a poignant reminder of the loyalty and courage that our four-legged friends possess. His actions not only saved Aruna’s life but also touched the hearts of many, showcasing the profound connection between humans and their pets. As Aruna recovers, the story of Tiger's heroism continues to resonate, inspiring admiration and gratitude for the incredible bond we share with our canine companions.
